1. What insurances do we participate in? We can bill for Molina, CHPW, Regence/Blue Shield, Premera, Aetna, Uniform Medical, Cigna, Tricare/TriWest, Medicare, First Choice, Pacific Care, Sterling, Secure Horizons, DSHS, United Healthcare, Lifewise Plan of WA, TPSC, Timber Products Manuf. Trust, AARP, Trusteed Planned Services and others. 2. Is my copay due at the time of the visit? Yes it is. Your copay is your contractual duty with your insurance, and it is due at the time of your visit. 3. Can I get labs or x-rays done here that are ordered by another physician? Possibly. This is a primary care clinic and not an outpatient lab or outpatient x-ray facility. We can only do what we order here. If you have labs or x-rays another physician has requested, most of the time we can accomodate you, however sometimes we can only do them if it is accompanied by a routine office visit here. Otherwise you may have to go to a lab or x-ray facility. 4. Can my labs or x-rays from here be sent elsewhere? Yes, we often times will forward copies of your studies to other physicians you are seeing. 5. Can I obtain copies of my records? Yes you can. The actual records are owned by the clinic, but you do have access to copies of them. We will be happy to make you one copy free of charge with a few days notice. 6. When are you open? We are open Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM in the winter and 8 AM to 4PM in the summer with lunch from 12:30PM to 1:45 PM. 7. What is your holiday schedule? We are usually closed New Year's day, President's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday afterwards, and Christmas day and often Christmas Eve depending on the calendar. 8. What is a Physician's Assistant? A PA is a healthcare provider that has been trained by physicians and other physician assistants to see patients. They can order tests, make diagnoses, order prescriptions and can some times see patients in the hospital. They do not have the breadth and depth of training that a physician has, but can deal with many primary care problems. As an aside, Dr. McCurry is highly confident in Ann Morgan's skills as a PA. 9. Are there any job opportunities available at Riffe Medical Center? On occasion there are opportunities and we will be happy to accept your resume to keep on file should an opening come up. 10. Will I get my lab results? Yes, we believe that you should have those even if they are normal. We will send you a letter letting you know how they turned out. If needed we will call you if something needs to be addressed more urgently. 11. How can I get Rx refills? You can call your pharmacy and ask them, you can trigger a request online through this website, you can call us directly, or it can be addressed during an office visit. 12. Are my files confidential? Yes, we hold your private medical information with the utmost care and respect. We will only release it to people you have designated in writing, or to physicians we are referring you to, or to your insurance company. 13. Is my electronic computerized record safe? Yes, they are password protected, firewall protected, and redundantly backed up and onsite. We do not use a web-based system. Each of the employees has signed a letter acknowledging our privacy policies and expectations. 14. What is an online virtual visit and how do I get one? This is an online interaction with a physician in a secure connection. This can be used to deal with minor problems, thereby preventing you from having to leave work or home for a minor problem. Simply create an online account with us on the home page, then click on virtual office visit and follow the instructions. 15. Will my insurance pay for an online visit? I don't know, often times it is not covered. However, that trend is beginning to change. For medicare it is most definitely not. 16. Will you bill my insurance for an online visit? At this time we will not, as most do not pay for it. You may however submit a bill to them on the off chance they may cover it. 17. Financial Policy Payment of professional fees is due at the time of service. Internet communication may not be covered by insurances. If it is covered, then it is the patient responsibility to file claims for internet based services with their carrier. If 18.
